The Southern Cross is the smallest but one of the most beautiful constellations in the night sky. It is only viewable from the Southern Hemisphere and is of great significance to the cultures who reside there.

The Australian Aboriginal people have many meanings for the Southern Cross. The most important being its representation of the sky deity Mirrabooka who watches down on the tribes from the heavens. A stone image of the Southern Cross has been found at the archaeological site of Machu Piccu, Peru. In Indonesia and Malaysia, it is known as Buruj Pari. In ancient Hindu astrology the Southern Cross is referred to as Trishanku. Argentine Gauchos are well known for using it for night orientation in the Pampas and Patagonic regions.

To our founder, an Australian and South Pacific Islander, the Southern Cross is a reminder of a culture and homeland left behind in search of the American Dream.
